What we treat

The most common reasons men in their thirties through their seventies come into Joint Freedom.

Low Testosterone

Fatigue, brain fog, loss of muscle mass, weight gain around the midsection, low libido, slower recovery, mood changes. We diagnose with comprehensive lab work and treat with structured testosterone replacement designed around your specific physiology.

Joint Pain

Knees, shoulders, lower back, hips. Whether the cause is years of athletic wear, age-related arthritis, or a specific injury that did not resolve, we offer evidence-based regenerative therapies that address the cause, not just the symptom.

Sports Injuries

Running, weightlifting, court sports, golf. Acute injuries, chronic tendinopathy, and the patterns that lead to recurring problems. We help active men come back stronger, not just back to baseline.

Weight Management

For men whose physiology has resisted traditional approaches. We diagnose the underlying drivers (insulin resistance, hormonal status, metabolic factors) and build medically supervised protocols that work with your body, not against it.

Why men come to Joint Freedom

The clinics most men have access to fall into one of three patterns.

Online testosterone clinics that prescribe medication after a brief intake form, with minimal evaluation and minimal monitoring. Short-term effects, long-term physiology not addressed.

Pain clinics that prescribe medication and wait for surgery. Symptom management without root-cause treatment.

Generic primary care that lacks the clinical depth or scope to handle complex cases involving joint pain, hormonal status, and metabolic factors at the same time.

Joint Freedom is built differently. We treat the connected systems together. Hormonal status affects tissue recovery. Body composition affects joint load. Activity affects metabolic and hormonal health. We evaluate the full picture and treat what is actually driving the symptom.

What makes our approach different for men

Comprehensive evaluation

Most men with persistent joint pain, fatigue, or weight gain have multiple contributors. We evaluate hormonal, metabolic, and musculoskeletal factors together. The right treatment depends on understanding the connections.

Real lab work

For testosterone therapy, weight loss, and many joint cases, we order comprehensive lab panels at baseline and at structured intervals throughout treatment. We do not run protocols on minimal data.

Personalized protocols

Default templates do not work for everyone. We build protocols around your specific case, your specific physiology, and your specific goals. Your protocol may look very different from another patient with the same diagnosis.

Structured monitoring

Treatment is monitored. We track how your body is responding through clinical assessment and lab work, and adjust based on what we see. The goal is durable outcomes that hold up over years.

Clinical oversight

April Ashworth, AGPCNP-BC, our Medical Director, personally leads every consultation and oversees every treatment plan. The practice is built around clinical depth, not template prescriptions.

Questions we commonly hear from men

Answers from our clinical team.

Age does not determine candidacy for testosterone therapy. Lab work and clinical evaluation do. Many men in their thirties and forties have clinically low testosterone with significant symptoms. We evaluate based on your specific physiology, not your age.

No. We treat patients in their seventies and beyond. Age is not a disqualifying factor for regenerative therapy. The right treatment depends on the specific condition, not chronological age.

Many men tell us this. Common reasons: the dose was wrong, the delivery method was suboptimal, the underlying contributors (sleep, stress, body composition, other hormonal factors) were not addressed, or monitoring was not structured. We evaluate what actually happened and build a different protocol if appropriate.

Hormonal status affects tissue recovery, inflammation, and body composition. For men with low testosterone alongside chronic joint pain, addressing both often produces better outcomes than treating either in isolation. The connection is real, but each case is evaluated individually.

Often, yes. Many men told they need joint replacement, rotator cuff repair, or other orthopedic surgery respond well to combined regenerative therapy. We help patients defer surgery, sometimes indefinitely. Surgery remains appropriate for severe cases where the structure cannot be restored non-surgically.

We do not bill insurance directly. Most regenerative therapies (PRP) are not insurance-covered. HA injections for the knee may have partial coverage in some plans. Coverage for testosterone therapy varies. We provide receipts for out-of-network submission and accept HSA and FSA.
