Joint Freedom is a Henrico clinic, treating Henrico patients
Joint Freedom is physically located in Henrico County, the largest county in the Richmond metro by population. That means if you live anywhere in Henrico, from Tuckahoe and the Near West End to Innsbrook, Lakeside, Sandston, or Highland Springs, you are not driving across town to find us. You are coming to a clinic that sits inside your county.
Henrico patients make up the largest share of our caseload. They come to us with the conditions and lifestyle factors we know well: joint pain from active retirements in the West End, lower back pain from corporate desk work in Innsbrook, sports injuries from youth athletes across the Tuckahoe and Glen Allen circuit, and post-surgical recurrent pain from patients who had their original procedures at Henrico Doctors' Hospital or St. Mary's.
We are the regenerative medicine option for Henrico residents who want non-surgical answers first. PRP, hyaluronic acid joint injections, Class IV deep-tissue laser, hormone optimization, and medically supervised weight loss. Every protocol is delivered under the supervision of April L. Ashworth, AGPCNP-BC.

Three reasons Henrico residents come to us
01
We are local
You are not adding a thirty-minute commute to your week. Most Henrico patients are at the clinic in ten to fifteen minutes. That changes the calculus on showing up for follow-ups, laser series, and consistent care.
02
A different model than the surgical practices nearby
Henrico has excellent orthopedic surgical groups. We are not one of them. We exist as the non-surgical option, which means our incentives are aligned with helping you delay or avoid joint replacement, not schedule one.
03
Free thirty-minute consultation, no commitment
Every new patient gets a thirty-minute consult at no cost. No insurance hoops, no obligation, no upselling. If you are not a fit for what we do, we tell you.

Frequently asked questions from Henrico patients
Answers from our clinical team.
Yes. Recurrent pain after total joint replacement is something we see regularly. PRP, hyaluronic acid (when appropriate), and Class IV laser are commonly used as part of post-surgical pain management for patients who have already had hardware placed. A free consultation walks through what is appropriate for your case.
Generally yes, but timing matters. Most protocols recommend waiting four to six weeks after a cortisone injection before doing PRP, since cortisone can suppress the regenerative response we are trying to support. We will review your timing at your consultation.
Most regenerative protocols (PRP, Class IV laser) are not covered by insurance. Hyaluronic acid for the knee may have partial coverage in some plans. We are transparent about pricing and payment options.
There is no minimum severity. We see patients ranging from those with low-grade chronic discomfort to those with bone-on-bone osteoarthritis postponing replacement. The free consultation is the right first step regardless of where you are on the spectrum.
Yes. While our hormone optimization service is most often associated with TRT for men, we offer comprehensive hormone panels and protocols for women as well.
Your First Visit
Your first visit is a free thirty-minute consultation. We review your history, evaluate your case, and discuss which treatments make sense. If we can help, we build a plan together with clear timelines, expectations, and pricing. If we are not the right fit, we tell you that honestly.
